Sydney's fun and inclusive Pony Club
We are one of Australia’s oldest Pony Clubs extending a welcome and supportive atmosphere to young riders and their parents. Our grounds are in a bush enclave in St Ives, Sydney where we have an Olympic size sand dressage arena, showjumping arena and brilliant cross country course.
We are part of the Pony Club Association of Australia and Zone 23.
Membership
Avondale is unique in that we offer two types of membership. Option 1 is to join our Pony club and Option 2 is to become a Grounds member.
Avondale Pony Club also welcomes Active Kids vouchers so don't forget to register!
NOTE: We are not a riding school and all members must own or lease a horse or pony as we do not have horses available to ride
Join Avondale Pony Club
There are only 3 criteria to join Avondale Pony Club.

You need a pony/horse (no horses for hire)

You need to be aged 4 - 80 years

You need to be ready for some fun and a few challenges

Our facilities
Full size 60 x 20m sand dressage arena.
Flat 60 x 40m showjumping area.
Show jumps & cavaletti.
Easy parking.
Cross country course built by accredited course builder and designer Darrel Burgess, which ranges from 50cms (E grade/ encourager level) to 95cms (B grade/Prelim level). Includes: bank, logs, tyres, ditch, brush, water jump (can be filled for clinics) and mobile narrow fences for accuracy practice.
Other equipment on request such as dazzle boards, other fill, sporting or polocrosse.
Northside Riding Club
Northside Riding Club holds around 70 events every year across all disciplines including showjumping, eventing, dressage, hacking and horsemanship, attracting many hundreds of competitors. They also provide training days, clinics and social days, catering for all levels of riders. As a member of Northside riding club you are able to join Avondale as a grounds member at a discounted rate.
